How to rename my form and customize downloaded PDF file names

Can I change the name of my form and customize downloaded PDF file names?
Answer
Absolutely! To do this, follow the instructions below:
Rename your form

Go to the Dashboard and select your desired form.

Click the Settings (gear) button at the top right of the form, then click Name.

Rename your online form in the PDF Name input box.
Note: You can choose whether to include the “.pdf” extension in your form’s name.

Click Save to confirm your settings.
Customize PDF file names
You can also customize downloaded PDF file names for better organization, especially when managing multiple submissions. This saves time and simplifies form identification. Here’s how:

In the Created PDF Name Pattern input box, use variables to create unique and clear names for your PDFs.
- Click Add Index Suffix to add the
{{index}}
variable in the name pattern. It will be replaced with a unique number in your downloaded PDF name. - Click Add Date Suffix to include the date format
{{yyy-mm-dd}}
in the name pattern, which will be replaced with the submission date. - Enter {{data.fidXX}} to add field values from the submitted form as part of the PDF name. Here,
XX
represents the ID of the field, which you can find in the form builder. Please note that in the form editor, only ID numbers are displayed, so you should addfid
before the number. For instance, you can use a naming pattern likePDF-form-{{data.fid9}}.pdf
, and{{data.fid9}}
will be replaced with the input value from the submitted form.
Note: You can choose whether or not to add the “.pdf” extension to the names in the Created PDF Name Pattern.
