How to change the current Team Admin or add a new Team Admin

Question: Can I replace the current Team Admin with a new Team Admin?

Answer: ✅ Yes, you can change the current Team Admin.

Question: Will the previous Team Admin’s work be lost?

Answer: The work and settings of the current Team Admin will not be lost after the transfer.

Question: How about adding a new Team Admin?

Answer: No, you cannot add a new Team Admin. Currently, PlatoForms supports only one Team Admin for each team. (You can, however, give a Member the same permissions as the Team Admin — see Can I have more than one Team Admin?)

Note: Based on whether the new admin’s email is registered or not, you can follow these steps to replace the current Team Admin.


If the new Team Admin’s email doesn’t exist in PlatoForms:

For example, if you want to change the Team Admin’s email from old@team.com to new@team.com, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to PlatoForms with the current admin’s email (old@team.com).

  2. Click your avatar at the top right and select Account Settings.

  3. On the Account Settings page, stay on the Profile tab (the default tab), and change the Email field to new@team.com.

If the new Team Admin’s email already exists in PlatoForms:

  1. Log in to PlatoForms with the existing account (new@team.com).

  2. Go to Account Settings and change the email (new@team.com) to a different one (e.g., another_email_non_registered@team.com). This frees up the email address you want to use.

  3. Log out from this account.

  4. Log in with the current Team Admin’s email (old@team.com) and change it to the desired email (new@team.com).


What happens after the change?

  • All work and settings of the current Team Admin will be preserved after the transfer. The new admin and team members will retain access to everything. Only the login email is affected.

  • If your team has a premium subscription, the new Team Admin and all team members will continue to have access to all premium features.
