AI and custom connections

Build your own connection

Work with forms from an AI assistant, or build on the API, webhooks and JavaScript.
Work with your forms from an AI assistantChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and OpenAI Codex, through MCP
Ask an assistant to read a submission, create a prefilled link, submit a test entry or build a form from a description. It receives only the access you grant and requires a plan with API access. Connect an AI assistant Watch demo Manage forms in ChatGPT through conversation PlatoForms connected to AI assistants through MCP
Build your own integration with the APITry calls in the API Playground first
Use the REST API to download completed PDFs, create prefilled invitations and manage workflow steps. Webhooks send submission, workflow, document-request and renewal events to your server. Read the API docs Watch demo See the PlatoForms API in action API Playground running a sample request and showing the JSON response
Customize forms with JavaScriptFor calculations, validation and calls to your systems
Add conditional logic, real-time calculations, dynamic field updates and custom validation, or call internal systems and external APIs. Custom JavaScript runs only on a paid plan—not the free trial—and requires a connected custom form domain. JavaScript customization for online PDF forms

FAQ

Questions about integrations

What to know before you connect your first app.

1. What apps can I integrate with PlatoForms?
Built in: Slack, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, Google Sheets, Stripe, PayPal, Square and Twilio. You can also import from Google Forms and Canva, connect AI assistants through MCP, connect to 9,000+ apps through Zapier, with more automation options through Make, Pabbly Connect, Integrately and ApiX Drive.
2. Can integrations send the completed PDF, not just the answers?
Yes. A Slack message can include a Download PDF option, cloud drive uploads save the completed PDF to your folder, and Zapier starts after the PDF is generated, so a Zap can pass the file to other apps. The API can also download completed PDFs.
3. Does PlatoForms have an API and webhooks?
Yes. The REST API covers submissions, documents, workflows, invitations and more, and you can try calls in the API Playground first. Webhooks send submission, workflow, document-request or renewal events to your endpoint. An endpoint that keeps failing is turned off automatically and the team is notified. See API and webhooks.
4. Which integrations need a paid plan?
Text messages, Canva export, payments and cloud drive uploads need a paid plan. Payments and cloud drive uploads also work during the free trial. Connecting an AI assistant needs API access, which new accounts get during the 15-day free trial.
5. Can I use more than one payment provider on the same form?
No. Use one payment method per form. For example, don’t combine Square Checkout with an embedded payment field from Square or another provider, because the payment amount, currency or confirmation status can behave unpredictably. See the Square guide or compare payment providers.
6. Do I need to install anything?
No for most built-in integrations. The exceptions are the PlatoForms app in Canva and external automation tools such as Zapier or Make, where you need an account.
