Which form type should I use in PlatoForms?

Question

I’m not sure which form type to choose. Which one is right for my situation?

Answer

Choose based on what you are starting with and what the person filling the form should see:

  • I have a PDF and its layout must stay exactly the same: Use a PDF Fillable Form. People fill directly on the original PDF pages.
  • I have a PDF, but mobile-friendly filling matters more than the original layout: Use a Web PDF Form. People see a responsive web form, and PlatoForms generates the completed PDF after submission.
  • I need the same answers inserted into several PDFs: Use a Master Form.
  • I want to collect answers without starting from a PDF: Use a Web Form. Start with AI, a template, or a blank form; add a PDF output layout later if needed.
  • I need to design a new contract, letter, certificate, or report: Use PDF Document Creator, then export the document as a PDF or publish it as an online form.

AI and templates are ways to start. Classic and Conversational are filling experiences; they are not separate form types.
