Why are my scanned pages marked “Not this form”?

I imported scans of our paper form, but the pages are marked Not this form and nothing was read. Why?

Answer

Import from paper matches every scanned page against the pages of the form’s own PDF. Pages that do not match are not read and not counted toward your monthly pages, and a file in which no page matches is marked Not this form.

Common causes

• A different form: the scan belongs to another form. Import it into that form instead.
• Another version of the paper: the paper was printed from an older or different layout. Have people fill in a printout of the PDF your form was built from, or build a new form from the PDF of the version they use.
• A form built without a PDF: Import from paper only works with a PDF Fillable Form or a Web PDF Form. A form made with Web Form cannot import paper.
• A page that is hard to see: a very dark, blurred or cut-off photo. Scan the page again, flat and in good light.
